Expanding the Scope of Your Pediatric Practice: Integrating Concepts from the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study at the 2019 ArizOTA Fall Conference on: September 21, 2019 

 

The Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (2012) is a landmark study to see the truth of the landscape of the prevalence of childhood toxic stress and trauma, its impact on children’s health and development and adult health disease correlates. This presentation will help pediatric practitioners gain an understanding of the study, recognize the scope of childhood toxic stress and trauma, identify the three major findings of the study and begin to explore the role of occupational therapists in treating children with toxic stress and trauma.
